I had a great father's day yesterday thanks to my great wife and kids. We had a great steak dinner and played in the pool. I got to go for a run yesterday morning and try out my new toy the Garmin Forerunner 305. It is a GPS watch that tracks heart rate speed distance etc. Really cool.
I am lucky to have such a great family. Days like this make me realize how lucky I am to have what I have with my family. Sometimes it's difficult to be satisfied with the details of work and my carreer with all of its faults. Having a great life here at home makes me realize how small the other things are.

A long stretch
I worked 10 day shifts in a row and was only able to run 1 time for 4 miles. The last few days I have been off completely though and have managed to run every day for 17 miles over the last 3 days. I ordered my Forerunner 305 and it should be here on Tuesday or Wednesday. I cant wait to give it a go. My girls had a great birthday party for me today, the world's first duckbill platypus themed party. It was awesome. We swam and had fun all day, it was without a doubt the best birthday I have had for a long time.
